We have opportunities to create GOOD jobs if we use our assets to expand water and sewer into our north AV industrial area. We need to focus on industrial jobs, rather than warehouse, that will pay a living wage. When we have established industrial jobs in the north AV the traffic will shift direction. When everybody doesn't have to travel out of town to work everyday it will relieve the traffic backup in BV rd. and Hwy 18. The Yucca Loma Bridge (construction to start in 2010) will resolve congestion along our western corridors. The new Town manager is changing the staff and creating a positive, solution oriented, staff we are moving the right direction. Those of use who have lived in Apple Valley a long time can remember what we had and work had to keep that rural environment alive by monitoring residential development and ensuring that we don't become a group of gated communities who only share roads and lock ourselves behind gates the rest of the time.
